Baraka Meets the Largest Crayfish Gladiator Yet

I found a Large Clawed Crayfish at my LFS a few days back, and thought Baraka would love to meet him!
Although my camera quality is not the greatest, please note that if you count, there was 14 powerful strikes in 15 seconds.

Interesting. The O.s fired every shot in its arsenal and was completely spent by the last strike. It probably took it at least 30 seconds before it could muster another strike. You might also have noted that the strikes were a bit on the weak side. This happens when the animal is striking in quick succession. When striking a snail, the muscles generate full tension before the strike. It looks like in a rapid fire attack, there isn't time and/or effort to do this.

I love the partner in crime. The mantis shrimp takes care of the torso. The clown attacks from the rear. Quite funny!

Thanks! That Cinnamon Clown is the Ringmaster! He jumps in there and likes to kick the crayfish, crab, or will bite the ghost shrimp in half and then the mantis will go and grab them!
