Does my new clown have ICH?

I just purchased a new percula clownfish last night and this morning I noticed little white dots all over his body. Im not sure if it's ich or not. He looked fine at my LFS but this morning he has these white dots. I would post a pic now but I am already late, I will try and post this afternoon. What are the signs I should be looking for and if it is ich will the LFS take him back or do I need to give him meds (what type) and will it hurt anything else in my tank? I only have corals , snails and a cleaner shrimp no other fish just the clown. I will check back at luch for any help you have posted.

Thank You,
Dave

It is likely ich. If you leave the fish in your tank your only treatment choice is to treat with garlic added to the food.

The better way is to remove the fish and put it in a quarantine tank. Then you can treat with hyposalinity or copper.

Each of these ways is a whole topic in itself and there are good threads here on RC about how to do each.

Take it back Dave. Tonight when you get home. You can skip the picture as this sounds like classic ich.

When you do take him back don't bring back other livestock in the form of fish. Wait 4-6 weeks before trying another fish to make sure the ich you imported dies out. You can add coral and other inverts as they don't catch ich. Only fish do that and ich needs fish to survive.
