Dang Anthony, that is a wicked coral, does it expand much and where did it come from?

I fed mine tonight, and it got more fluffy. Then I went crazy and squirted some chunky stuff on it with a turkeybaster, after taking this picture. It's even larger than this image.

The glass on this tank needs scraping, but I've not done it yet.

I just got a frag of this yesterday. Was wondering about their care.I know about feeding them krill. But what other special needs as for lighting and flow. How much intense lighting can they take?Any input here would be great.
Thanks

Reefflections, the guy who tried to sell me a polyp said as long as you're feeding them they can thrive in practically any flow/lighting conditions. He even went so far as to say they could be acclimated to placement directly under a halide. Course, he did try to get me to buy it by saying they had no sting, & it appears they actually do have quite a good one, so I'm not sure if the info he gave me could be relied on at all. In my reading, I have seen them doing quite well in a shallow nano w/halide (tigahboy's lps only nano), and lower lighting situations as well (pc, vho, t5). It'd be good if any of you who have them in different flow/lighting situations would chime in, as I don't have any hands on experience, just alot of wishful researching. Also, I would try to give it as much of a variety of food as possible. I've read about people feeding it brine, mysis, pacific plankton, saltwater zoo, even prime reef & krill too. I noticed a difference when I added variety to my other coral's diet. Great find, by the way, enjoy it!

those pics above were taken at feeding time so they are all out and happy. The Eye at feeding time fluffs up to the size of a baseball, it usually looks like this when it is just chillin.

Wendy, I thought you'd like to know when my cleaner shrimp's tentacle touches the dendro's tentacles, it sticks and the shrimp jerks away quickly. So it is a bit sticky, to be sure.

Thanks, Marc. I guess that shrimp won't be stealing any snacks from that coral!

Actually it tried to last night, but I shoed it away. I guess it is more bold with its claws than its tentacles.

Hey JenDub,

Nice collection. I saw that last one "eye of the sea" at tat's fish, and the person I talked to said that they are extremely rare, and they have one of 5 in the United States. I thought that seemed like a bold statement, but do you think they are really THAT rare, or did the guy I talk to just not know how many there really are in the US?

Also, do those Duncanopsammia puff up like the eyes or dendros or do they stay pretty deflated?

Thanks, Harry

Is this a sun coral or dendro?
