Hair algae in a FOWLR
I have a 225 gallon tank with a 50 gallon tank that has the begining of a hair algae problem. What are my best options to get rid of the algae? I have Chaeto in the sump lit 24/7 and will be running phosban once the new o-ring arrives. The hair algae started growing after I added chemi-clean for the cyno and did a 90 gallon water change. Any help?

i would get some astrea snails and a lawn mower blenny..and then knock your phosphate levels down to minimal levels, via rowaphos reactor and h20 changes.

yes the PO4 reactor will definitely help out, but maybe throw a yellow tang in there too

Many people also suggest buying a seahare, but I can't remember which kind of seahare will do the trick - so you'll have to make a search or look in the invertebrate forum: http://reefcentral.com/forums/forumd...s=&forumid=427
