refugium lights

What bulbs are you guys running over your refuge? I have one of those metal clip on lights and was looking to scoop up a bulb. What do you guys use?

Get money saveing bulb , the one that is in circles and rated 75whatt but uses like 23 whatts and in rated same as sunlight.Home dept and works great.I leave mine on 24/7 and get great growth.

HD has some 16W N:Vision daylight floods for $8. They have a temp of 5500k

Pods don't care about Kelvins, and neither do macro-algae. Anything will work.

I used one of these for 2 months. My chaeto ball just slowly died off. Got the LOA 65W fixture with a fan above it and have had great growth ever since.

True pods dont care, but 6500K is the K rating for optimal growth for anything green.

I post this in MANY fuge question threads, but people still ask about them so here's a quote from my other threads.

If you want the ultimate light get a LOA (Lights of America) outdoor flood light.
It's a 65W CF that's HUGE! It's a 500W equivalent

They sell them at costco for less than $10.00 or HD or Lowes for more.

Here's my fuge before and after the light in only 2 WEEKS!!!
