To foam, or not to foam?

The subject line is the question. I am referring to whether or not to put a foam panel down between the tank and the stand. Is there a correct answer or is this a preference sort of thing?

My 220 has just been set up. It's not quite level. I am going to empty it back out (water, rock. and sand) and shimmy the stand. Do I need the foam? It sort of a pain to do this. But, this will be the time to do it.
