distilled water?

Well, Im in a bind. I have not had time to go to the LFS to pick up some RO/DI water. I have a 55g reef mostly SPS. Can I use some distilled water to top off? Thanks Mile.

I stories I hear about LFS RO/DI water. I would just buy my own unit. But before I got a RO/DI I would use the green walmart drinking water for everything. I actually tested and it and it read 0 across the board.

I used the RO/DI culligan machine at the local Wally World. And I've had the worst outbreak of algea in the history of this 20H that I have. But I have consistantly been buying their Distilled Water (purple cap) and I am very happy with it. It cleared up the algea bloom tremendously! I highly recommend it to those who have smaller tanks for which a home RO/DI would be overkill. Much over 30 gallons though, and I agree, buying an RO/DI filter would be more economical.

those machines outside of stores are hit or miss... I tested one and it was 30tds and one was 15tds.... You have to remember that is perfect for drinking water and most people don't like to drink 0 tds water as it has really no taste for the most part.

My LFS tests out at 5 so I use them. Only 25 cents a gallon too!

I figure it would take about 1000 gallons for me to justify the cost of a RO/DI. I will get one here in the near futute but until then I don't mind the $1.25 for a bucket fillup.
