Talking It's splitting!

Woohoo!

My BTA is splitting! For the past 3 days, my BTA looked a little shriveled up and seemed to shrink into its little cave. Just 10 minutes ago I looked in the tank and saw that it now has 2 feet! I'm ecstatic! In any case, it's not completely done splitting, the crown is still one piece I believe. Should I still be feeding it right now? Thanks for the help.

Hi G-R,

Let it finish splitting and then wait a day or two before trying to feed. Sometimes they won't feed for a week or two after the split.

Congratulations!

Thank you.

It seems that it has completed splitting. One of them is still in the original cave and is fully inlfated, or so it seems. The otheer, "newer" on has shirveled into a tiny ball and appears to be moving. I'll post an update after a day or two. Is this "balling up" process normal?

Hi,

More-or-less, it is normal. Some do it, some don't.
