Making a water change easy

Any suggestions on how to do this? I have a 75 gallon tank and use a 35 gallon trashcan to mix my new water during a water change. I am tired of lugging the water from the trashcan to the sump. Thanks for any help.

How many gal. and how many times a month do you change your water?

here is mine, the top rubbermaid is rodi only and the bottom is NSW. all I do is turn a few ball valves depending on what I want and turn the pump on. at the tank it is "t'd" off 1 line goes to the top off container and 1 line goes to the sump for water changes.

I dont have a normal schedule. I need to get in one. Approximately once a month and anywhere from 20-35 gallons.

I use a brute trash can with a closed loop with an external tee to connect to hosing that runs to the tank. I made a pvc bracket that connects to the hose and is set to a depth that takes out about the same amount as the trash can holds. The only part that's time consuming is getting all the remaining water out of the trash can and making sure everything's dry when I'm done. It sure beats lugging buckets.

wish i had the room for something like that to be permanent. my tank is in my living room so mine has to be something that i can bring in, do the water change, then take it out

maybe hook up some tubing to a cheap powerhead and drop it in the fresh saltwater and pump it like that to your sump?

If it makes ya feel any better, I lug in my water from my brute trash can in the garage in 5 gallon buckets to my 75 gallon tank in our den. I know I could run some vinyl tubing and pump it...but sheesh...its about the only exercise I get all month

I wonder how many reefers have bad backs because of hauling water.

Well if stairs aren't an obstacle, you could always throw the trashcan on a skateboard! Just don't let your significant other catch you rolling it over the new hardwood flooring

(edit) come to think of it, some trash cans actually have wheels on them.

I do 5 gal. change a month to. after i take out 5 gal. i stop to have a smoke then bring in new water.

To drain the water you can get a siphen type that hooks to the sink facet and it puts the water down the drain. At least that will help with half the job.
