Does anyone know what kind of MH reflector the Infinity has? Is it that same old hammertone reflector that many of the other Giesemann products have or is it a newer design? For me, that hammertone MH reflector would be the deal breaker.

fisheebill,
Do you have any pics of the reflector.

the infinity is similar to the aquamedic hammertone reflector the spectra with se mhs has a much better reflector

It isn't the hammertone that the Nova II has.
I don't know why they used that in the Nova.

The Infinity has a new design MH reflector, definately not hammertone, according to Giesemann. The only difference in reflectors between the Spectra and the Infinity is size, I'm guessing the SE bulb needs a wider reflector because of the size of the bulb. I personally don't see any advantages by going the SE route, however I could be educated.
I have a 48" 250 DE Infinity, running with Giesemann bulbs, 12k & super actinic t5's. I love this fixture, it's worth the extra money, as with most of the German imports, there hard to beat.
