I used one for two years. For its size its pretty hard to beat. Easy to fill and way underestimated in terms of its ability. It does have to be filled often but for the two minutes it takes its no big deal.

110 gallon with 55g sump. Before it died it had 40+ inches of clams and about 10 football sized sps colonies. The little reactor was maxed out but it did keep up. I have a second one I was going to add but my grandson killed the tank before I needed it.

Updates? Debating between the Schuran and the ASD one as well.

Schuran Pico reactors are awesome. They can easily handle SPS tanks at 125 gallons. The ASD model looks well built but I highly doubt it could compare to the Schuran model.

Grotech also has a 'nano' reactor that's supposed to be quite efficient. Here's a link http://www.grotech-shop.de/customer/...t=26362&page=1

I was going to get a pico when I was researching them, I heard they can loose their settings and need to be dialed in again sometimes. I settled on a barr aquatics/austin oceans CA reactor for when I do order one.

Thats not at all accurate. The pico is probably the easiet reactor to get dialed in and they stay that way. The bigger jetstreams are another story.

I like that CaRxNano. Think it'd be okay for a 55g total system with SPS?

I read the opposite, the large ones were legit and the pico wasn't. I guess we read different threads. I did a lot of reading on the zeo forums, schuran seems to be big over there. I don't own one and don't know anybody that does, just passing along what I read.

I have two pico's. I just ordered a third. Ive used picos for a number of years. They are set and forget just refill with media often because they dont hold much.

I am going to get a calcium reactor for a 40 gallon tank and I whant it to be able to handle my 72 gallon bowfront as well. I will probbaly be switching the reactor from tank to tank periodicly. So should I go with the pico or the aqua designs?
