Ahh... Baby steps.

I sincerely hope that the $250 in parts for the 2 manifolds I have already built will be practice enough.

I didn't use primer for years either. I used the Oatey Cleaner in the Yellow can.

My xtra 50 lbs of Marco Rocks got delivered today. I'll start soaking them tonite so I can finish my rockwork this weekend. Right after I rebuild my manifolds.

My tag line says I hope to have it up and running by the end of the start of the year... It's still accurate. 2009!

What are you doing up this late? You usually chime in around 8 in the morning.

The primer certainly can't make it worse... right? My sanity can't afford another mistake.

If you are into captive reefs, your sanity escaped a long time ago. Just admit it and move on.

The primer cleans the pipe of the protective material they add at the factory. Its better to use it, but if its clean enough its not required. The more pressure the more important.

Thanks... I think since I'm pushing 4000 gph thru it... I should use it. I picked up the parts for the rebuild along with some clear pvc glue today. Tonite... the fun begins.

Prime both parts, glue one, then 1/4 twist.

Never had that part leak.

Depends on how much glue, if you did a lot then it could weaken the joint. It doesn't take much and you want it to dry well before putting in the water.
