300 Gallon Planning Stage

I'm considering doing a new setup 60"Lx48"Wx24"H. I'm currently have 4 Lumenarc III reflectors and curious how many I would need to properly light? I tentatively plan on 2 separate islands in the tank and realize the tank doesn't need to be fully illuminated on the back wall and completely to both sides.....Tank is planned to be an inwall with viewing only from the front......Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

I am using 2 x 48" units to light my 300 but the tank is 8ft long. You could probably use the same type of fixture only placing them along the width of your tank over the islands. That or use your lumenarcs over the islands. If you don't need to light up the entire tank 4 of them should be enough to light the desired area.

My fixture has 2 x150 watt MH and 4 x 54 watt T5.You can probably use 2 x 36" fixtures over your island

Yeah I already have 4 Lumenarc III fixtures, but think 4 would be overkill, since they have roughly a 30"x30" light spread......

Sorry still in the planning stages, but the tank would have a 6" eurobracing the entire way around the tank. The overflow would be external running the back of the tank. With that being said don't want the lighting falling over the eurobracing. Was considering centering 3 fixtures, but concerned about shadowing affect in the front.....Not real concerned about the back wall of the tank?
