What do you think of my two sump surge idea? I am waiting for you to verify my theory before i start drilling all my sumps.

Isn't it better to have the top sit on the legs somehow instead of legs beeing wilded on the sides. The wiled areas are what hold the whole tank. Or would'nt it be safe just to put a sheet of metal on top of it since it is made like that. Just a note to learn and not sure.

Zooqi,

That would be my logical reasoning as well. But I guess this is an engineering issue. Kind of like when you see the big flat bed semi truck on the freeway, with the 12" tall steel beams, and they are flexing up and down by almost a foot as the trailer bounces along the road.... Some things just don't make sense.

Hello,

All the weight of the tank will be distributed across the entire surface of the stand.

For the record; the steel tube would bend before the welds would give and break. The bead where the two metals are fused together is the strongest point.

Correct me here, but fro looking at the stand pictures, it seems all the weight of the large square perimeter where the tank will rest on will be supported by the weld spots and not the legs themselves. Well, sort of. Isn't that a lot of weight to rest of weldpoints??
