MTC Pro-Cal or MRC CCR 8618
I've been running the Pro-Cal for about 5 years and have had very few problems with it. It DOES seem to have gotten a bit 'finicky' lately in that the gauge must be monitored more closely or the numbers seem to drift. Not sure of the CO2 mix efficiency anymore either. Could just be getting long in the tooth. Recently the commercial CCR-8618 by MyReef has been brought to my attention. It's high quality hardware and spraybar design certainly seems to address those issues. And Myreefs customer service is peerless while Leo... Anyway, has anyone had a chance to 'play' with both of these units enough to do a compare and contrast? Obviously, I'm thinking of switching.

The Pro-Cal is a very well built unit. If its getting "finiky" it may be time to do a thorough cleaining job by fully breaking it down. 5 years of use can do that to any reactor. That being said I swtiched out my Pro-Cal to a Schuran Professional unit. All I can say is that I have never seen a reactor built as well by any standards as the unit I employ now. Serious bucks though.....
