Growing Corraline Alage

I was wondering if I could get info on how you all get that nice purple alagae to cover you tank rocks and equipemnt. Specifically whay addatives you use, ligthing techniques and brands of salt you all think help and promote the quickest corralline algae growth in an aquarium!

Let me and others know what works and doesn't!

Keeping calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, and phosphate at reasonable levels are the first steps for growing coralline algae. This article covers what's acceptable, and gives pointers for problem-solving:

If you could post your parameters and dosing schedule, we might be able to help more.

I am growing the algae fine I am curious on ways to make the algae grow quicker in a new tank or methods others have used to grow the corraline in under 30 days.

I don't know of any way of stimulating coralline growth other than keeping those water parameters in line and having some food source for them. There are lots of claims, though.

parameters are the key to coraline, as soon as I look better my parameters (Ca, Alk, mag, ph) my coraline is starting to pop up.

For suplementation I use:
-alk, reef bulding by seachem, (excelent product by the way)
-for cal, turbo calcium by kent marine, (if I have a cal down) regular weekly basis use Calcium+3 by redsea and my cal is on 440
- PH, buffer by redsea too. 8.3 stable
-for Mag Tech M by kent marine
