what's the worst your nano has looked?
lets see some pictures of your tanks at their worst. we are always asking for the best fts shots for contests, but lets do something new. whether it be during its cycle or a few weeks/months of neglect. i know some of us get lazy, so lets see it!!

Here's my entry, it's not horrible but the algea bothered me pretty good, this is two months after starting the tank.

Hmm... I knew I should have taken a few pics of my temporary tank for when my 15G exploded...... It was on the floor in front of my computer and was such a mess.....
My canopy is pretty ghetto in this pic. and this one...

The black sand has done a great job at hiding any brown/blue/green algae mats. As far as I'm concerned I never had any algae problems

I wish I had seen this thread yesterday! Today I finally got around to a much-needed cleanup on my 30g - it's a semi-neglected tank that pretty much looks after itself, and I let it go a bit over the past month or so. There was quite a buildup of coralline and green 'dust' algae on the glass, as well as some red turf algae on the rockwork which is still present. part of the problem is that the CUC in the tank consists of one trochus snail and one Hawaiian hermit; it's definitely time to go shopping for custodians!
Today I can see my clowns, but the rocks are decidedly fuzzy. I'll see if I can get a picture tomorrow to add to the thread - maybe one of you guys can tell me what eats this red algae and I can get rid of it!

I don't have any pics but one time on my 10 gallon tank I had an algae bloom that was in the water. It turned my whole tank green, it got to the point where you couldn't see what was in the tank. It was horrible. I had to move everything into a temporary holding place and do a 100% water change, then I let it sit for a few days and then I put everything back in. Haven't had a problem since, but I did end up buying a uv sterlizer.

I have gotten rid of red slime before with out chemicals but its stressful for sps if you dont have any in your tank just siphon out all the red slime scrub it off the glass etc.. run skimmer wet. then kepp all lights off for 3 days, then do water change. my slime came from dirty pipes I forgot clean when one of my clowns died.

Some power heads will do wonders on the red slime. Lights off and water changes for the hair algea. Cut back on feedings also.
