sun coral feeding
I am using the pop bottle method to feed my sun coral. How do I know if it is actually getting enough of the food. Is there a better way to feed?

I feed mine with cyclopeez early in the morning when their polyps are out. I just put the frozen bar in front of my return flow and it flows down to my polyps, you can tell they are feeding when they all close up on the food. Here is a pic I took tonight after I fed my fish and they could smell the food and are starting to come out.

I acutally take mine out of the tank and put it in a cup to feed.

I bast mine with a turkey baster or syringe/hard tubing contaption. I feed chopped mysis, cyclopseeze, DT's mix. As soon as the halides go out they are ready to rock and begging for food. I think they prefer not to be disturbed and my fish like the overflow.

They are non-photosynthetic, but can tolerate and adapt to light. Any indirect or shady areas will be fine. Just have your algae growth under control because they will outcompete sun corals for light.
