What's the deal with the Marco rocks? They look like nicer base rock? Do you still use live rock with them?

Yeah... I have a few nice pieces of live rock in my sump that I will seed them with once I get the reef built. I spent no less than $8 per pound for the live rock in my 54 gallon and upto $13. These rocks cost me less than $3 per pound including shipping and in 3 or 4 months... you won't be able to tell the difference. Plus... my plan for them will require them to be dry for days while I build the reef which would kill live rock anyways.

So... I was working on my stand in the garage when my wife asked me to keep an eye on the kids while she went Christmas shopping. So my plan was to check on 'em every 20 minutes or so... well, I got a little distracted and when I went in the house, this is what I saw...

Yes... my 6 year old son, running a poker game with the neighbor girls. I guess I should be proud... that he is at least using chips... right?

Are you asking about the dado cuts? If so... I used a circular saw with the blade depth at 1 1/2 inches to cut multiple cuts each about 1/8th inch apart. This makes it easy to chisle them out. I started the cuts 5 1/2 inches (the same width as a 2x6) from each end to make sure they were uniform.

If I answered your question wrong... let me know and I will try again.

I got the wood at Home Depot. Yeah... if you make cuts about an 1/8 inch apart... it is easy to knock out the remaining wood. If you have a table saw... you can buy a dado blade specifically designed for this process. Much faster. But, I don't have a table saw so I had to use a skill saw.

Good one. At least he's not outside doing stunts!

I used to play poker until I got into my tank. I played in several world series events and others and used to run several tournys from home. Part of the reason I got into reefing was to have a hobby that would keep me closer to home and maybe be a little cheaper.

1 out of 2 ain't bad.

I really want to set up a game over here but I need to make friends with more people that actually have money. Not enough single guys around here.

Yeah Jonathan,

It's not that there aren't people on the peninsula with money... It's just that all the ones you probably know, would rather spend their (hold 'em buy in) on a new power head or moon lights or... or... or.

we should bet with old equipment and frags...what a freakin' great idea. We could have the PSAS Hold 'Em Frag Tourney. Sweet Mother of God Steve, you're pretty smart for a retard.

The fact that he looks like a retard in his avatar... does not make him a retard. If we start to judge books by their covers... You would be a mall santa with anorexia and I would have a blank look on my face.

That's because I can't figure out how to post my avatar.

Sorry... Didn't realize my son was in the picture when I posted it. He thinks it's a fort.
