scubajim: I'm assuming you don't need the version 2 to version 3 upgrade since you're in for an AC3?

I'll ask.

Is there no combo deal for the ACJR/DC8? Those two together are mighty pricey.

Kevin,

can you take a crack at posting an update of who is in for what, so we can get a feel on quantity discount?

1 - DC4HD (bored4long)
7 - DC8 (kevin95695, KMP, scubajim, ebacon, Red Leader, ThunderDog)
1 - AC3 (scubajim)
1 - AC Jr. (kevin95695)
1 - Aquasurf (ebacon)
1 - Conductivity Probe (ebacon)
1 - Pro 3 Temp Probe (ebacon)
2 - PH Probe (Red Leader, kevin95695)

I'm sure I messed up the "probes" at the end. Not sure what a conductivity probe is (PH?). Also, not sure what exactly kevin95695 is getting but I know he's gettting a AC Jr and DC8.

AC3 I/O Breakout Box

The AC3 IO Breakout Box allows you to attach float switches and leak detectors to you AC3...

IO Breakout Box

It lists at $40 and is well worth it.

I hope it isn't too late for you guys to do anything with this.

The link on my previous post points to the Neptune Systems website. The product descriptions are all there.

no, won't work with the 6025. Its only for the streams that can be controlled by the Tunze controllers.

Did we get a price for the AC Jr + DC8? This combo is priced cheaper online than what the two together would cost. Please let me know.

I contacted our vendor a while back on the combo pricing. They've been extremely busy lately. Awaiting response. I'll follow up.

I'm in for the DC8 and a standard pH probe.

i am interested in an AC3 with DC8, and like bored4long mentioned, its cheaper to buy combo than indivdually, I would also be interested in an aqua surf to replace my Tunze 7095 controller.

just out of curiosity, has anyone thought of taking a DC8 apart to see how it is made, and then make a DIY article on it? From what I can tell, it is just a serial connection between the controller and the power strip, which im assuming have small relays in them to control on/off..... kinda like a chauvet power center.

How many of these have deposits on them? I'm contemplating an AC3, DC8 and pH probe because I love my Jr so much.

Also interested in Combo pricing for AC jr/DC 8/serial port/ & temp probe when you find out. I've looked around the cheapest I saw is 249.99.

Your on-line deal might be better shrun209.

Seems the combos are rock bottom, no vendor discounts. In pm's to YR I don't see the price being any better on this go-round. However, I'm putting my money in this buy. I may not get it cheapest, but I'm getting much cheaper while routing business through a favorite resource.

Vendor ("Your Reef") is very concerned that those who participate in this purchase go away happy.

"AquaNotes v3.20---------------$69.00
Temp Probe for AC3Pro.-------$45.00 4 at least. My wholesale cost.
Conductivity Probe.-------------$115.00
Combo: ACJr/serial/pH(std)/DC8-Don't see this option on price sheet. The offer they have is this:
AquaController jr base unit+serial+Temp Probe+Backlight $164.99
The PH probe seems to be a separate purchase.
Will most people need the one with the serial port? I would hate to have them order the one without it and want it later ... Just want to make sure people are happy and get what they want.
Hope this helps."

It's much more likely that the control circuits use SCR's so they can use TTL control signals to gate the outlets on and off. It would also explain why really low current devices have trouble with the outlets staying on. I would not think it would be a good candidate for a DIY unless you have experience with electronics and electrical circuits. funman1 could do it easily but I think most reefer's should stay away from experimental wiring projects.
Just my opinion.

So an AcJr w/ serial port, pH probe, and DC8 would cost:

AC Jr $135
DC8 $142
pH Probe $40

Total: $317

Correct?

To be honest, I'm not sure if the pricing on pg1 is serial option. I'll check and get back to you.

YR is asking for a deposit in order to secure your item(s). Since this is a deal where a deposit is required and quantity counts, there needs to be a cutoff date. Please have your deposit on record no later than January 15th. Since credit costs money, John is willing to offer additional slight discount for cash.
seems like i read 50% somewhere on deposit. kevin, please confirm.
