One Born Every Second

I watch Ebay a lot out of boredom at work and I cannot believe people are actually buying majano for their tank.

if you look at the bids, two people had a small bidding war over it.

I don't think that they are A. majanos (but I've never seen a positively identified A. majano or seen a latin name for these anemones). I've never had them myself, but a guy I know had a few. They really were nice colors like that, and never split unless he target fed them. Last year there was a thread on the selling or trading forum with a couple hundred posts of people looking for these little guys.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I got a tank full of them start the bidding. JK

Honestly I started out with a couple of them and never paid attention to them for like the first year or so, I am now kicking myself for not getting rid of them. They are very aggressive and will take out just about any thing they touch.

I'm a pretty experienced reefer, I actually like those. Never seen em before with pink tips. If I ever see one in the store, I'll get one. Just won't pay for shipping. I have an LFS nearby selling mojanos, but they are a different species. They are at least 2" full across, with lots more tentacles. Neat looking, but I won't buy them as they're brown. I have enough brown and green in my tank.

I purchased a small rock of these guys from someone here in the For Sale section. They have not reproduced like an aptasia or a majano. They maybe have doubled in7-8 months. I like them for the bio-diversity--so you're weed may be a nice little addition to someones elses tank.

Does majano pop up any where it wants to, and sting other corals like aptasia?

Well, I have these tulips, and they don't just pop up every where they want to. They split in confined areas. They will move if they like. They also don't bother any other corals.

No, I did'nt buy from this guy. So, I'm not protecting him.

if you have a tank with any kind of nutrient problems they'll split and grow like crazy, if on the other hand you have a nutrient poor coral tank you'll probably be ok:

my tank was overun with the pests (after one hijacked it's way into tank), and I mean hundreds and hundreds, then I upgraded my skimmer and now there are only tens. IMO it's not worth the risk.

Well, I admit I purchased two of them, but only one has split once. So, a total of three. My cousin also purchased two, and now has 13. Then again half his tank is hair algea. Should I kill them? Maybe, I'll let'em go and sell them on ebay
