I know what you mean InuYasha, here it's worse, the Gov. won't import coral from other countries, only fish. They let the shops charge what they want for these fish. The Equipment is Aus costs heaps to (2x-3x usually) but hey, you win some and you loose some! The LR gets to me within (max) 24hrs of leaving the sea.

"Give us their live stock selection and pricing and we would have the same thing" It's especially true with us young reefers. We (or I) simply don't have the cash to afford what the rich oldies can. I mean, anyone can have a SWEET tank, and not know anything about reefing. All they need is HUGE amounts of money, and good recommendations from others. These people can have ALL the BEST gear, with biggest tanks and skimmers etc. Then there are those that know what they are doing, but can’t get the "BubbleKing" skimmer imported form Germany, or the 2000w HQI (yes they exist) 20000K MHs, or plankton reactors etc. IMHO we shouldn’t be comparing ourselves with the oldies …YET ! That’s why I think this is such a great thread. JMO

Congrats Josh!!

Where do those Japanese get their corals from??? How come none of us can find such cool inverts like that in the US?

Good Question! they must get them from other Pacific Islands as-well, It’s obviously much closer for the coral to be shipped from (Bail) to Japan, rather than to the US.

Thanks Kayla, Dad was SOOOOO happy as-well! he was jumping after each goal.

The most southern point of japan has a couple coral reefs. Stuff that we pay 30-40 bucks for just washes up there, lol!

Here are some new pics. I had about 2 minutes to take them before I went to swimming, so I had no clue about the settings and they are pretty crappy, but oh well you can get the picture .

Wowowow Kayla! Thats sooo cool. I love the blue! That Clam is awesome, its such a big improvement from the more whitish yellow we get with the 2x96w pcs!

Swiming is killing me!! Both coaches are breaking us down, and I cant even get up at 5 unless i get to bed at nine!

Thanks Nick! I have some better pics I will upload later, but I need to take a shower and do a water change first. I know your pain! I can barely lift my arms after practice. We did 12 200s quarters fly...I don't know if you do those, but they really hurt!

lol. im just fed up with trying to win the battle against the ever growing field of aptasia and caulerpa that had taken me over for the past year. i just cant pick it out fast enough. And cant inject kalk preciseley enough, so they dont really die, just come back in 20x's numbers, a lot smaller. I just think it would look a lot better if i redid it, with a sump/refug and did the powerhead thing differently... i could just make it so much better if i redid it. so im messin with that idea........

Well I added 60 lbs of base rock to my tank today. I have 110 lbs of rock and it is still practically empty! I'll post a pic tomorrow.
