We have been to HI snorkeling 3 times and are trying to decide weather to go back or somewhere else. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Are the middle keys the best place in Florida to go snorkeling? Is is accessable without a boat?

Middle keys are pretty good, but really I like anywhere from Jupiter on down the east coast. You can do some diving without a boat in FL, but you are limited pretty badly. There's a lot more choices if you take a very short boat ride.

That reminds me of when I went diving. I saw alot of what you have taken pictures of. If I recall correctly those red corals sting... or maybe it was the yellow one. It was kinda rough out where I was and bumbed into a couple of corals.

This is most likely what stung you:

Great photos!
Can you give some details on the camera settings (mode, speed, flash, etc.)? Are these with a strobe or built in flash or no flash? Have you had any trouble with the housing? I have a Olympus 5060 and haven't had a chance to use it yet. Next month I'm taking it to Australia. |

The settings really depend on the shot. I use Aperature priority mode almost always, but other than that it really depends.
Only the external flash and I avoid using it as much as possible. The housing works great. No troubles at all.

thanks for the Video. After an extremely stressful 2 weeks listening to bubbles was very refreshing.

What is the slowest shutter speed that doesnt result in blurring?
FYI - If you turn the sound off during recording you can use the zoom (turn full time autofocus on and digital zoom on). Althought the bubbles do sound pretty relaxing. |

It depends on how steady you are and how fast the subject is moving. Ideal would be 1/60 or faster for a slow moving subject, 1/100 for a fast moving subject, but if you are careful you can get down to 1/30 or 1/40.
