Here is a picture of mine when I got it 9/2002

And after a little growth and many fragging later this is what it looked like a fw months ago when I was using 6500k's so it looks a little washed out.

I've seen some blue ones at the LFS,they're always under 20k lighting though, bobafets have some blue in them.I would also like to see some blue ones under white lighting.

Here's a macro pic of the same coral

Just picked up a colony with 9 heads for 6 bucks. Only 1 head was colored up, though. It's green in the middle with red rim. The other heads are receded about halfway into the skeleton, and mostly white with a little green tint in the center. Think they'll come back? Hope they do, the one that is still alive is gorgeous! If not, it'll grow well in my TOS (Tank on Steroids (my wife's term)).

When I first got mine I had them under PC's and the polyps looked peachy white. When I switched to 175 10K MH's they started to grow more rapidly and the colors got brighter. A few months ago I upgraded to 250W 20K bulbs and thats when their colors really started to glow and develop their bluish tint.

Here's my red/green candy that I grew from a single head.

Sorry for the poor image quality - it would be better if it weren't limited to 50Kb.

thanks. ha ha - maybe I should start calling it "acan for the dirt-poor reefer" Yes, it has always had the white stripes. It's a fast grower - very hardy. I've given tons away at reef club meetings.
