Question Best skimmer for my FO?

hey everyone, Im lookin for opinions on what you guys think would be the best skimmer for my 65gal truvu. I've been running this FO tank for about 7 or 8 years, with a del rey 125 wet dry filter. I'd like to add a skimmer to help with cleanup, but my sump doesn't have much room left after the pump, and a hanging skimmer wont work on my acrylic tank with the light fixture. Any ideas?

hang-on skimmers for tru vu tanks might be a little tough. But essentially a good skimmer is one that works and works well, ther are a number of high quality skimmer which could work for you. If you have any room in the sump see if you can find one that fits, if not you might consider having an external skimmer driven off a dedicated pump.
feel free to read this article and you can decide what a good skimmer is for your self.

thanks for the link - it was really informative. I think Im going to have to go with an external skimmer. Do you have any brand recomendations? My LFS only has a limitted supply, and they tend to promote certain products based on deals they have with certain co's, so id like to buy online, but there's so many different brands I dont know where to start.

hcmo............with Fo tanks good skimming is very important, especially if you have some of the many fish that are considered messy eaters. This means a larger capacity skimmer that would either be in-sump or external of the sump. Since room is tight in your sump I'd go with a Euro-Reef external skimmer. Here's the link:

I also have the del-rey 125 on a 75 gallon setup. I also have a del-rey skimmer. I want to stick the skimmer on the wetdry so that its outa sight, and hopefully quite things down by having it hidden away.. but that pouring water would be noisy... is there any solution for this or is just a bad idea to hang it down there.
