Steve, I'm not exactly sure which one you're talking about. But don't matter, all the critters are on R&R at work. They're fine.

Don't have a clue as to why you would think that. The panels are flat on the bottom, what would get under them would be so minuscule that I can't imagine in the big picture that it would even matter. There is obviously multitudes more in a DSB and rocks. Besides, unless you pick the panels up, it will just stay there forever.

Looking good Jerel !!!

For those of you without access to starboard, or concerned about anarobic areas, just buy ugf panels. Flip them over, lay them on the bottom of your tank, and cover them with a thin layer of sand. That's what I did to keep rock from sliding before I learned about dsb's.

Awesome!!

I've been up to the same philosophy, but not as extreme. Let me explain:

I had a 10 gallon nano reef when I was in university. It was very successful.

I decided to move my successful 10gal setup into a 20 gallon tank. Same setup--more water. Very successful.

I moved my original 10gal setup into a 29 gallon tank. Same setup--more water. Even more successful.

You basically have a thriving nanoreef waiting to happen in a very large tank. You corals will grow into that space.

Bomber, let the new tank party begin. Don't even think of adding another rock to that tank... Unless there's a little acro frag attached to it

Great job. I wish you all the best with the new setup.

E.

Hmmm..Jerel,
I think I need to come down and stand in front of it for a few days to make up my mind about it

Great pieces of art are like that, they need to be studied in detail before they can be fully appreciated.

I hope you figure out if it's going to work or not in the next 2 years rather than 4 because that's what I have left on my DSB until it's 4
I don't like the thought of removing 850 LB of it to well.

I believe the board is made on UHMW polyethylene.

Regards,
Kevin

That's what the plans are. By the time I get the critters back, they will be bigger.

and the reason you're not here is?

We use starboard for tanks, bait wells, etc. I really don't know what it's made of Kevin, but it's never effected any of our holding or grow out tanks.

I'm really not into the hamster habitat look. How about just remove the detritus and not having to have all those other things.

You're closer than you think!

We were discussing having cuttlefish when I was cleaning it out.

Just curious with a tank that size were do you have it in your house cause that is a whole lot of dead weight. and what are the dimmensions of a tank that size.

ok, I get that the starboard protects the bottom glas from a rock slide, but I would think that rock slides are still apt to happen due to the slick bottom and then you have a good chance of scratching the front. Correct?

very nice

Very nice simple setup Bomber. Do you think there would be any problems with setting up a tank with the black starboard?

Big, and it's on the second floor too.

It's 10ft long.

I think the white reflects light better, doesn't show the little particles that come out of the rocks so bad, and looks more like sand.
