Dang Joe, I love that orange Diaseris, very very cool. You gotta propagate that. Pretty sure the coral you posted right before the Diaseris is a Leptoseris but I'll have a better idea when I see it in person next week. ;-)

It's definitely Diaseris too. Hard to tell in the pic. You can verify it when you're here and take some better shots

Oh yeah, there's no doubt you got at least two different Diaseris. I remember you telling Ali about the orange Diaseris when I was in SoCal and I didnt believe it then but I have no doubt now. Can't wait to take some pics of it myself.

there's a frag of it out there, as you can see by the slice missing. actually snapped it handling it gently when i had to rebag it. still trying to get my main system back on track before i slice it.

notice the orange cyclo on the right - had a hint of green when i first got it & is starting to slowwwwwly fill in.

That's how my orange and green cyclo started. It was orange with pale stripes through it. Although it showed no green to begin with eventually it developed the intense coloration.

I have what I believe to be cycloseris. Never heard of diaseris, what's the difference? Amazing colors on these btw! I never knew there was blue, yellow, & intense red like these.

Did I say this thread had promise a couple of says ago? Well, that was an understatement, because this thread ROCKS!
Some of the best coral macro pics I've ever seen, & I've seen a lot here on ol' RC.
This could replace the Favia thread as next month's thread of the month!

Sincerely,
Matthew

it was there, in the bag with the Clarion Angel, Naked Clownfish & baby Garibaldi. You must've missed it in the sea of orange.

Great photos. Interesting this is one coral that I have never bought and tried out. seeing ones like above are making me reconsider. all of these nice lps photo threads are awesome. I truley dont understand how some may have an sps only tank with stuff like this.

I have always considerd them, but I have at least four non-fungid coral colonies or frags on my sandbed. The fact they can move & are very, very aggressive precludes them in my current tank. In a new tank, I'll make sure I get one or two..

My orange is the only one that moves around, he keeps crawling over to my torch in front of him. Every few days I have to reach in and scoot him back, it's never gotten anything yet though. My favia on the sandbed is much more vicious, keeps dragging nearby frags over and eating them. Gotta love coral warfare. Is it true that fungias don't attack their own kind like I've read?
