Farewell Reefcentral

Its been a while since Ive posted but just wanted to say goodbye to all the friends Ive made on this site in the past years. Ive still got my tanks, but due to RC forum rules I will no longer be visiting. I attempted to post some info about a benefit for a fundraiser being held for a local Firefighter that was killed in the line of duty and was informed that fundraising is not allowed. I learned a lot from you all but will not be part of a community that can not simply lock an informational thread asking to help a widow of a local hero that several of you have meet at my house while helping me setup and break down various tanks.
Sincerly
Brian

Just stick to the ORCA forums on the ORCA site. It's going to take time but hopefully the whole club shifts to there. You won't have any problems like this over there.

Have no fear I will be on ORCA and SITC for sure. There side is that they have been "taken in the past" which is understandable, and the reason I did not post in any other forums besides ORCA due to it being local, the email informed of a benefit in deland this weekend that people could come to and have a few hours of bowling with proceeds benefiting a widow and child, as well as bank trust fund that has been set up for the same reason..... not like I was asking for money to go to nigeraia so I could sent you back the great spotted super fish.

This site is very community based and the initial email was meant as away to notify the few of you that where there to help me set up my 180 system that the tragedy had occured, I really cant remeber who was there with us but Curry was there for a few hours and met a few of you from this site. Anyways RC stance is they are "Protecting you" from con artists so Im sure this post will be closed as well, Im sure I will catch up with you all on others forums, If Kara and I can ever manage to get our schedules cleared we will even see you at a ORCA meeting, stay safe out there its been a fun journey but my time will be spent trying to raise funds for a widow with a 1600 dollar trust fund, a 3 year old son, and no real source of income in the near future.

I'm very sorry that you feel the need to play the martyr here.

Reef Central gets a huge amount of traffic. That makes us a target for all kinds of folks trying to gain access to your wallet. We, quite simply, don't have the time or resources to fully investigate each and every one to see whether it's a legitimate cause or a "bad guy."

Because of that, the only way that we have to protect our users from those "bad guys" is to apply the same rule to everyone. While that may seem "unfair" to you, it's really the "fair" option that we have when dealing with this stuff.

Cheers
