Unhappy frogspawn not opening

i bought a frogspawn lastnight and it has yet to come out 24 hours later. i've tested my water and my kh and calcium is kinda high, so i got some ro water and performed a water change today.. it seems to have brought down the kh and calcium. all of my other corals are doing fine. by the way i have a 400w m.h. and the spawn is kinda sitting off center of the light and centered top to bottom in the tank. please help before it dies...

tank 55 gal
kh 15 drops
calcium is down to about 33-34 drops now
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ammonia 0
ph 8.4
400w m.h. about 8inches off the water
temp 76 deg.

thanks. bobby

If this is not a joke and you need help, I will try although I am rather a newbie as well. Some of the acronyms or abbreviations were a little funny in your post above.

Like kH is not really measured in drops but rather in dh (degrees hardness) or it is sometimes called alk or alkalinity and is measured in mq/l or meq/liters which will tell you the same thing.

Calcium is usually measured in ppm (parts per million) with somewhere between 350ppm and 475ppm being generally ok.

Do you need a little more help?
It seems like you're on the right track!

move it down in the tank you will bleach it under 400 mh, also keep it in low to low/mod flow.

I've cared for many of Frogspawn and a general good idea for all corals when you get them home is a Iodine dip in Lugals for 10 to 15 min. this insures that any damage done to the coral in transit to your tank are taken care of and it gives the coral a health boost. this dip also allows all the little shrimp or crabs that you may get on the rock that could be a potential danger to your tank are killed. and as stated before i would move the coral lower in the tank to an area of moderate flow. I home this helps you.

Too much light. Move it down and away from the light. I fragged one recently and the same thing happened. It was fine and fully opened under my 150W but the new owner stuck it directly under his 250W and it would not open. He moved it away and it is fine. Also not too much flow. Just enough to keep the tentacles moving.
