Hydor Flo problem

I jusy bought a hydor flo for my 24 gal aquapod. I switched out the orignal stock pump with a maxi-jet 1200. I kept the flow coming out of the same outlet on the top of the tank. I just bought a hydor flo and love the way it works. However, I woke up the next morning and found that it had blasted all of the sand out of a near corner of my tank. I now have a bare corner of my tank and another half of my tank with tons of sand.
Has anyone had similar experiences or does anyone have any ideas on fixing this problem? TIA

I had a little problem with it blowing sand around, but I just put a rock in the spot over the sand and it keeps it from blowing around too much.
