June Meeting, this coming saturday (9th) at UCO

The next meeting will be on the 9th of June at UCO beginning at 7.30.

The topic of the meeting will be parasites and pests, how to identify them, what they do and what you can do to kill them.

We will have a power point presentation as well as (hopefully) actual specimens of several nasties for you to look at.

This will be a very informative talk with lots of useful information.

In addition, thre will be door prizes, as always.
$50 Gift Cert from premier in Tulsa
$25 GC from ART

WE will also be doing a cash raffle to raise money for the CRASE. We will be raffling off a typhoon III RoDi unit from Air water Ice. This is a great unit and would be a perfect addition to any saltwater system.

We will also have CRASE tickets available. Please note, we have limited numbers of tickets available. They are selling fast and now that we have opened sales online I expect them to go even faster. If you definitely want to attend this event, please make every effort to obtain your tickets as sson as possible.

---should be a fun eveing.

Directions to UCO can be found on the COMAS website.
Go to mycomas.com, click on "LFS" at the top. Under "Locas Fish Stores" there is a drop down arrow next to Sponsors. Click on "Fish Related." Number 2 is the UCO Meeting Location. It gives the address and provides driving directions from where you're located.

Can anyone bring a simple microscope(s) with extra slides? It would really make the meeting that much more interesting to see the pests in higher detail.

I guess there isn't much to say about my tanks right now. I'm just setting up a 120 that I'm going to do a fish only community tank. This is my first marine aquarium at home so I'm really excited.

I'll be there. Does anyone but me consider bristle worms to be a pest? I've been stung too many times to count. I can bring a live sample. Also, I have a microscope that connects to a computer via usb. I can bring it and the program if someone has a laptop they wouldn't mind installing the program on.

Great Dustin! Maybe we should get to UCO early to set it up. Any idea what time the meeting area will be open? My cell ph # is 405-850-6943 if you need to chat with me before then.
