Not really. The combination of the blues and the ATI Pro Color will give you a purple look but wont add any actinic spectrum. The UVL 75/25 has a slightly purple tint to it and adds actinic spectum. Not sure it would look more purple then the Super Actinic though

It is around what is discribed as a 20000K halide.

how about super actinic by uvl vs. ati true actinic or korallen fiji purple or geissman actinic plus!? are any of these actinics more purple looking all by them selves? I just feel like the blue+ overpowers the uvl super actinic

But with considerably more PAR than a 20000K halide, right?

Best lighting option for fast growth?

Grim,
What would you recommend for faster growth of sps & lps, T5's or MH? (30g breeder grow out tanks)

TIA,
Fredy

What are you looking for, the color purple or more fluorescence in your tank? If you want a more purple look add a pro color. It will "warm" the look of your tank and pop pink and purple colors in the tank. The Pro Color adds red. Red and Blue = Purple. If you want more Violet light then the Giesemann actinic would be better. The UVL is basically an actinic lamp that has a little more blue spectrum to it than the Giesemann and it has a more vibrant visible light than some other actinics.

In your fixture, Yes. The Blue T5's are easily within about 20% of the highest output T5s. 20K halides are maybe 50% of the highest output halides.

I would do the halide because the areas out from under the lamp will be lower intensity so you can keep the LPS happier.

Change the Pro Color for an Aquablue. Closer to 14K than 20 but blue. [/B][/QUOTE]

I appreciate the reply!

10K will be fine. T5 can be a little much for some LPS

ok here is what I changed out to today...

Ati Blue Plus
UVL Super Actinic.... yes, I added it back in...lol
ATi aquablue Special
Geise. Actinic Plus
Ati Aquasun
Ati Blue Plus
Geise. Aquablue

It is closer than anything I have done yet, I do like it....... BUT still not quite blue enough....my question... has anyone just done an all blue plus tank with a couple of Super actinics in the mix too?

With this post, I think I officially earn the most pesty T5 questioner!!! LOL thanks for putting up with me and helping me find what I am looking for.

Grim, I am thinking of either a 90 (48L X 18W X 25 H) or 120 (48L X 24W X 25H) Oceanic tech tank. I would like T5 lighting. What do you think of this list from best to worst.
1) ATI 8 bulb
2) ATI 6 bulb
3) Aquactinics Constellation 7 bulb
4) Tek 8 bulb
5) Aquactinics 5 bulb
6) Tek 6 bulb
7) Nova extreme pro 6 bulb

Are there any t5 fixtures I missed, and can buy I am not a do it your selfer, so I need a finished product.
Now with the 8 bulb lights. If it is to much light, could you use , 2 or 3 of the lamps and put in low par bulbs. Just going for a look?

Again thank you for your time

Marty

There is no reason why you couldn't try it. Hell just turn off lamps 3 and 5 and your almost there. See what you think.
