don't know what type of lighting to use

Can't decide between T5 lighting and PC lighting for a 30 gallon
sps reef tank. Choices are between current T5 xs 4, current PC
xs2 96 watt or Coralife PC xs2 96 watt. Help?

Don't forget the reflectors are just as important, when using T5's

I vote t5. PC = old technology, t5 = new technology. T5 bulbs last longer are more intense and are stronger per watt.

jag1979---MH and VHO are even older technology.
If you already have a PC light use it. If you are purchasing a new unit get T-5.

I agree with rickh.

One thing you didn't tell us is how deep is your 30g tank?

T-5s (w/good reflectors) will penetrate the water better than the PC's. But if you have a shallow tank then the PC's might work.

Good luck.
