how would i go about transfering contents of my 5.5 to a 10 i get one?
what would the steps be?
how would i add new water without disturbing fish and inverts? and other steps??? thanks i dont have a 10 yet, but it would b the largest i could get

I would do a 10% water change from the 5.5... add that to the 10 and fill the rest up with new mixed water. If you have some LR rubble that would be a plus too... It would help speeding up the cycle. No matter what your going to get some type of a cycle.. Test the water before adding any livestock.

I have "upgraded" or switched tanks several times (all 20 gal and below) and did just fine with taking out fish and corals and holding in water from original tank. Transferring liverock and sand (and adding what I needed), then using as much water from the old setup and then adding new water that is mixed to the same SG and temp. People will probably come in and say that you will create a cycle, but I have never had a problem with it or lost any livestock.
