Things are starting to die

I got back from work and all my corals are dying/dead.
So I tested the water and everything appears fine.
then I couldn't sleep so I came downstairs and had a look at the tank and my powder blue was covered with little white spots and kept swimming into things.

I have done some water changing (it takes a while)
and the one coral I have left has opened up a little but it's about half the size of what it used to be (it's shrunk).

the cleaner shrimp seem fine as do the clowns and the rock skipper was just kindof sitting on a rock (as usual). but my emperor angel seems a bit agitated (although at least he's still got a healthy apetite.

can you get a pic...how long ago was he added? as well as the other fish how long ago were they...sounds to me like Ich and with the corals you'll be needing a QT tank or in need to try some of the newer stuff they have out...

I would think that you may have had a temperature spike. That could lead to RTN of the corals.

Can you post your parameters? I don't think livinthalyfe33 really knew what he was saying. The tang does sound like it has ich. They're ich prone. no biggy. Get some kick ich from the LFS and it'll take care of it. Did it for mine. As for the rest of the corals I'm not sure. Maybe they're placements are wrong in the tank. Did you cycle the tank? What kind of corals croaked?

as far as i know...no copper based materials can go into a tank with inverts or corals...reason why i said the QT tank...they have a newer kind of thing out where it is a dissolving tablet with no copper base that gets rid of the Ich...asked when the tang and other fish introduced to see if maybe another fish carried it over to the tank...jsut to clear things up not sure ifu meant i didnt know what i was saying or didnt understand what he was saying

Please tell us more about your tank. The more specific you are the more likely we are to see what may be the cause.

Yeah pics would be good but I've had to quarantine my pc from internet it has a virus (it's been a bad week for me) and the virus scanners don't pick it up.

He is the third fish I put in there about a month ago.

The temperature has been fine, no spikes

everything was fine in the tank until yesterday when I noticed that the corals had shrunk so I tweaked things (adjusted water flow moved corals into better flow area)

At least this morning the remaining coral has at least opened up.
But I'm still concerned and blue isn't really looking to happy.

The only thing that has changed recently was a nice piece of lr and some other bits of rock (which I was assured by the lfs where safe for my tank) which where soaked rinsed for a few days.

And all the hair algea is dying off a bit (going brown and stringy) but I clean this out daily.

I would say that blue may be getting stressed by the constant cleaning but everytime I but my hand in the tank he comes over and has a nibble, he seems the least stressed about the cleaning

whatever your temp is...raise it to about 82/83 and isuppose adding the kick ich wont do much harm since there really isnt anything to kill by the copper...would probably be best though to take some tank water from WC and put the remaining coral and any inverts in it just incase the copper wereto kill them..FYI: it isnt good to have your hands in the tank..many diseases(like not washing your hands after you pee) rinse throughly w/o soap and go straight to the tank after air drying..keeps things in better order good luck though...OFF TO BED GOODNITE RC

Just a couple of quick questions. What kind of corals are you talking about first off? Second how do you know they are dead?

I'm not sure on the type of corals ones white and ones brown (yeah I know I'm a wealth of knowledge).
I'm pretty sure the white ones dead as it has totaly disapeared.
but like I say I moved the brown one into a better flow area and he seems to have picked up a bit.

I't always possible that the two issues aren't related
(I have seen the angel take a nip at one of them before)
and blue was getting a bit of ik but it looked like it cleared up.

on a side note I hopefully should be able to get some pics up soonish (as soon as I clean my pc) and I'm taking a water sample to get tested on the off chance I've missed something.

Did the coral look tree like, a mat, a round circle, etc.

It looked like a tree both of them did.
I should be able to tell later (the shop that gave them to me is where I'm getting the water tested).

I would say that the white one is moved somewhere in your tank.

It is gone since you put it in the flow. Could have dislodged and been blown somewhere else in the tank.

Also, Ich goes through life cycles. It appears to go away but that is merely the adults dying off. However, they have infested the water with babies the will soon reappear on the fish.

So you are saying that you didn't pay for them? I assume you are not related to the owner or dating one of the people that work there. They may have given them to you because they knew that it was dying already.
