Hello! I'd like to join up. I haven't seen the directions for the April 25th meeting yet, but I'm watching for them.

I'm in South Salem, NY. What city is er, "Russ's place" in?

I've got a 125 gallon reef that I'm trying to nurse back to health and I'd love to see other folks tanks.

Welcome aboard Mark. Drop Russ an email or a PM and I'm sure that he'll get back to you with directions. That reminds me, I need to do the same!

Check out our club website for some pix of member's tanks!

Welcome Mark,

I'll be emailing directions to all. I'm assuming you'd find it easiest to come over the Bear Mtn. Bridge? Let me know and I'll give you directions from there.

Not really sure. I'm not wildly familiar with traveling over the Hudson. The Tappan Zee is an option as well. Whatever works though. I've got a NAV system though so I might end up relying on that just in case.

Thanks

Mark, Rt. 202 goes over the Bear Mtn. Bridge. Are you familiar with 202?

Sorry. Not really. I take it that it's north of the Tappan Zee though, right? I'm sure I can find it.

Mark, look on a map for Yorktown Heights. I would like to send you the shortest way. Going by way of the Tappan Zee will probably add 30-35 unnecessary minutes to your trip. Rt. 202 runs through Yorktown Heights and would save you a lot of time. Let me know if I can give you directions from there.

Glad you'll be able to make it,
Russ

Russ,

Sorry to be such a dufus and drag this out...

I don't have a map right with me, but poking around on the web, it looks like 35 (I live just off 35) eventually runs into 202, so that's no biggie.

Thanks

New SW newbie introduction

Hello,
Just dropping a quick note to introduce myself. I'm new to salt water reef keeping. And I actually plan on setting up my first
SW reef next weekend. I'm ordering a LR starter kit from TBS, hoping to pick it up next Saturday from LGA.

Details in this thread:

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...&highlight=TBS

I'm located in Somers, NY.

Welcome Mike,
It is alway good to see a friendly new face around. Also, I always wanted to see some TBS rock. I hope that you have good luck with it as all the other people that I have seen posting. Hope to meet you soon. Take care.

Mike,

I'm in Pawling. If you ever feel like taking a ride up to see my setup you're more than welcome. Just let me know. I do have two ocellaris clowns in my reef tank (90).

Nope not here, we all take our hobby very seriously. BTW (by the way) when filling your tank, add 50% water and 50% vegetable oil, it helps to slime coat your fish and the vegetable portion is good for tangs.

See very serious!!

LOL. Oh man, don't say that. I used 50% Canola oil? Am I doomed? LOL.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Don't worry about that-that's why we keep Ross & Jay around...

(It's always the quiet ones)

(Oh, yeah, they are also experienced tanksitters).
