Coral Burn or Blossoming Life?

So I just installed some new VHO lights, roughly 200 watts, for my 58 gallon aquarium. I have some new live rock that I've had in the tank for about 2 weeks or so. In the past few days, the live rock has been turning a reddish-brown color. I'm a beginner aquarist, and I'm unsure if this is more life growing on the live rock, or if my lights are too powerful and are burning the organisms on the rocks. From the little that I know, I am under the impression that I'd much rather see purple than brown on my live rock. The VHOs are mounted about 6 inches above the tank. Also, I just bought an anemone about 2 days ago. I first placed him higher up in the tank, but now he has moved his way to the very bottom. Could this be another sign that maybe the light is too strong, or is it hard to predict the behavior of anemones? Any advice would be appreciated.

How's your calcium level? Nitrates? Phosphates?

Coralline algae comes in all colors, that is probably what you are seeing, or the coralline's reaction to the different light levels. I'd be more worried about the anemone.

I don't have calcium or phosphate test kits. Sounds like I should get some? So far I just test temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Nitrate is around 15ppm, so I don't think that should be a problem.
