Which Tunze Nanostreams..??

I'm sure some of you have seen my mostly SPS 29 gallon build thread I started a few days ago.... Well, I'm still trying to decide between getting 2 of the Tunze Nanostream 6025s or 6045s (or one of each)... any suggestions..?? My tank is running 1" on the drain side and 3/4" on the return with a GenX-4100 return pump... so thats going to be adding some flow too... I currently have a lot of Montiporas and a few Milli's, plus a nice sized Derasa Clam... Thanks in advance...

Jester

if you dont mind a 5 minute mod and have a dremel, you could mod your 6025s to have the flow of the 6045s + more.

exactly. i have 2 modded 6025's in my 30 gallon and they're awesome. they run at the same wattage and put out just as if not more flow than the 6045s.

Agreed, I recently bought four 6025's to replace two Seio M2600's and could not be happier...and did the mod (removing the shroud inside the cage attachment) with a xacto knife...super-easy mod.

And if read things correctly in another thread Tunze will honor the pump warranty (2 years) on the 6025 even if modded.

sounds good to me then... a few people were telling me to get a 6045 instead... but I'd rather pay the prices of the 6025... especially since I'm really use to paying the prices of maxijets... heheheee... I'm going to place the order tonight... thanks everyone...

I have had a 6025 in my 54 corner and 40G Breeder. The only down side is that it clatters a bit when it starts up. The flow is awesome and the mount is very clever.

I dont think this is quite accurate, I have 2 6045s (bought before I heard of the mod) and modded they put out more than my 6025s modded. That said, its not enough to justify the difference, Id go with the 6025s.
