You will please notice that spelling is STILL important and that the words that have the letters least randomly distributed (spread out as badly as possible) are the hardest to get first reading. Of course you get them the second time around, but there are issues with the findings of that study.

Not the least of which are:

Why are the truly randomly spelled words easier to get?

And the logical inverse of the last question.

Now don't that bake your noggin?

I wonder if it will work with words we are not familiar with.

I want to know how long it took you to do your post trying to spell
intentionally incorrect?
I can't tell you the number of school meetings I had trying to convince teachers that spelling was important.
I interview potential employees now and if they can't spell on their application they have one big strike against them already.

LOL That made the rounds through E-Mail a while ago. My Boss spells so badly, he almost didn't catch it.

Thanks Gary that was very interesting. I deal with all sorts of learning issues at my office. Your example demonstates the complexity(sp?) of this issue
I reassure my patients with learning problems that
I can't spell at all.....in fact I failed third grade!!!!! They do however, seemed relieved to find out I scored in the top 5% percent on my medical boards. In college I spent more time trying to do well in Freshman English then in Physical Chemistry...even then I had to pay a girl to screen my papers for spelling errors......Thank goodness for spell check

BTW my wife had a little trouble reading this and she is an electrical engineer!!!!! Tells you something of how different minds work!
Gary I spell so poorly, sometimes I need to page Darlene so I can just get "close" enough to the word so that spell check can figure out what I'm trying to say MK

Thats pretty cool!

I always hated english class! Now ive got proof its pointless!

Hey Gary, spell checker doesn't always work for me. Same as with Mark, sometimes the word i want to spell is off by one or two letters and spell check doesn't offer the word i want. Of course most of the timming i makes up my Oun wordez.

The brain is a wonderous thing.
Not sure if this will work if scaled but....

A
dog and
a cat went to
the store to see the
the items they had for sale.

Tell me what is wrong with this sentence. Not a grammar or spelling issue. Once you see it, you will be astonished. The sentence should be in the shape of a triangle if portrayed correctly. PM your answers so that others can enjoy this.
