Salinity Calibration Fluid 4 the club

I bought some extra PINPOINT Salinity Calibration Fluid for the club in case people want to try calibrating their refractometer with it in addition to pure water.

53.0 mS works out to be according to their conversion chart:

53.0 mS -> 35.00 ppt -> 1.0259 SG

+/- 1% at 77 deg F

Will bring to next meeting or via the next person going to Stockton.

Cool I'd like some.

I have a huge bottle of 45 ms calibration fluid, which I believe is equivalent to salinty of 1.000 at 77*F. It's made of water and potassium chloride and expires Nov 08, also available to any members who are interested.

Scott,

Thank for letting me use your solution. If it wasnt for you, i wouldnt have known that i was way off on my refractometer. Its a big difference, all this time I thought my salinity was at 1.025 but in actuality it was at 1.020.

I'm slowly adding salt into my tank to bring it up to 1.025.

Thanks again,

Ed
