A nice 400w Halide should blast those SPS . A 250 will do too, but all up to you.

I wouldn't go any less than 150W MH.

I would go higher if you can.

There are some awesome tanks out there with 150W MH's...

Here is a picture of Victoria's 29G with 150W MH (and 2 x 65W PC).

Heat will be an issue to think about.

is this a 29g biocube or a standard 29g tank. i think victorias tank is a biocube so its only 19" tall. a standard 29 is much taller and think would need a 250w

Check out Melev's 29 gal set up with 3x55W PC here http://www.melevsreef.com/29g.html

Rosseau, how did she fit all that above a 29? And how did she keep the temps in check?

My tank is 18" deep. When summer heat come I just use a fan to blow across the surface. Evap rate does increase, but thats ok. If I did it again I would go no lower than a 175watt. But no higher than a 250 watt. I use the Current USA fixture.

Get a 4x24w T5 (with individual reflectors). Thats what I have over my 29g and love it.

Yes you can only have a mh on the tank.

I have 4X24 T5's over my 29. I love them. I can grow anything that I want. My hood was too short for MH's, and I really did not want the heat issues that the MH presents.
Get the individual reflectors and a decent ballast and you will love them.
