What pump for 120?
Ok, I'm looking to change out my little giant pump external pump on my 120 Oceanic. The tank is 24 in high and the stand is 48 in. What pump would you guys recommend, and is there a RC sponsor where I can get a good deal on one? I've recently been bit by the buying supplies online bug, cause its usally a lot cheaper than I can get locally. What gph should I be looking for?

I purchased a panworld 50px-x for mine. I have only heard good things about it from everyone. It was about $134-137 or so at marinedepot.com
I should receive about 700gph after calculating my headloss. Hope that helps.

The drains on the tank are 1 to 1 1/2 in as a guess. I didn't plumb the tank myself. There are two of them. I keep seeing Iwaki posted everywhere. Good brand? Better or worse than others?

Iwaki is a very high quality pump made to last for 15 years or more. Panworld is another high quality pump I believe it is owned by the former chief engineer for Iwaki. Or something like that.

Im setting up a 150 now and either going to use 2 Peosiden T4s or a Sequence Dart, the T4 is dead silent less than 30db pumping 1275 @4 foot. and the Dart will do twice the flow and noise.

Eheim 1260 or 1262 would be good / quiet.

I've got a T4 and a T3 and am not impressed. Although they are silent, the heat the pump generates quickly turns it into a calcium block on the impeller. I have to remove and clean them every month. My T4 also developed a leak around the o-ring, letting air bubbles in and forcing me to give up on it as a main return. I use it in a closed loop for my fuge (kinda a waste of flow). The pressure they create is great and they seem to wrok reasonably well in high pressure aps (like pushiing it threw 2 scwds) but they require too much maintenance for me.

The pan world is cheaper, runs cooler, quieter and brings the power cord (iwaki does not). Look on the home page of Rc all the way to the bottom left for made comparisons of the 2.
