Here in Europe we don't have your funny names for corals ... but I think I've something very similar to the "sunset millepora".

Scissorhand : yes.. pretty funny if you think about it... here we don't have a "sunset" millepora , we just have a "nice" Acropora millepora .
We don't name corals after some guy's name..
But we hear so many wrong scientific name in shops or forums that sometimes I'd like more funny names and less wrong one.

well scientific name can only tell you the gene of the coral but you have so many varity of colors that's why you need to give them a unique name to identify. Actually I will name one of my milli tiramasu since it has brown coralite and white polyps....:-)

That's a great name, Anthony. I've got this same milli--brown coralites and white polyps.

I also need a name for my lime green with brown polyp milli. Suggestions?

Mine does the same thing. High light, low nutrients = peach/orange/salmon coralites with green polyps. I thought "sunset mille" implied less green than that even...?

The Sunset Milli...funny how we give this fancy names to hype and bump prices on corals, Milliporas will vary coloration depending on the lights you have, these are under 20Ks raduim bulbs

nope... but whatever it was... it has seemingly run its course (took 11 months, tons of frags, and almost all of my colonies to do it, but it has run its course)

many times it is and i'm totally for it, but sometimes (like this one) it's to take a rather common coral and charge 69 bucks a frag. especially by using the 'sunset' name.

you make pretty much any yellowish/greenish millie happy and it gets the orange/pink highlights.

Mine is one of those corals that is constantly changing colors. It gets more green and then goes back to orange(although green is always the dominant color) It looks much more green now then in this pic.

Oh, OK, I thought it was an *official* coral, not just a phase of any green mille. Good to know
