2007 gift exchange

Are we wanting to do this again? Val & I don't mind heading it up again, seems everyone had fun. COMAS borrowed the idea from us this year, there's a few of their rules I don't mind borrowing if we do it. Let me know and we'll put it together.

It was fun. I'd definitely like to do it again. I brought home a beautiful tri-color acro last year.

How's that doing Steph? I have none of it left, but getting good reviews from others. Still working on your pieces I owe you.

I had to frag it several months ago. I had it in the 75g and it never did color up. So I moved it home and it had great color, then it fell into some hydnophora. But, I fragged it out and saved it. It's really nice and is different from other Acro Valida that I have. When it branches out enough that I can frag it, I'll get you a piece of it.

I borrowed from COMAS's rules a bit, they were well written. Slight revamp from last year's rules.

GIFT EXCHANGE RULES
1) Each person participating should bring 1 wrapped or bagged gift (gift should not be visible). If the item is bagged (coral, etc.), label what the item is on its holding bag, but not visible until unwrapped.

2) With your registered gift you will receive a number or ticket which will be used to determine the order in which presents are picked.

3) Once all gifts have been registered the game shall commence with the first name being drawn and that person getting his/her choice of gift from the table of random-mystery presents. Then they unwrap it for all to see

4) After the first gift has been selected, the next name is called and that person will have two choices: They can either A: Choose a new gift from the table of gifts, or B: Steal another's gift. In the event that a gift has been stolen, the losing party will have their choice of a new gift from the table, or to steal another gift with the limitation that they cannot steal back the gift that was just stolen from them. A single gift can only be stolen a total of 3 times before it is literally "off the table" and no longer eligible to be stolen. Each present shall be unwrapped at the time it's received to assist in the stealing process.

DETAIL RULES:

A) Gifts should be aquarium related (frag, dry goods, inverts, books, etc.)

B) Items should be in clean and in working order (for equipment and used items)

C) No gag gifts

D) All gifts will need to be registered prior to the event commencing, show up early enough to get this done. I'll keep track of who won what (help me out with this) so we can show off to those who didn't participate.

I'm not sure, since some people can't grow Xenia, where for others it's a weed... Now Kenya Tree, that's a gag gift for sure, since very few can kill it, and once you get it you have a hard time getting rid of it...

Got some salt for your foot Scott?

Name was changed out of respect for this year's party hosts. You know I'm far from PC.

Yeah, some of us enjoy Festivus, you know, the "A Festivus for the Rest of Us"... And I'm just hoping we have time for the "Airing of Grievances" and "Feats of Strength", but if we don't I won't be offended at all. I have a grievance with the person who gave me a piece of Kenya Tree Weed for my tank...

I suppose that individual twisted your arm and forced you to put it in your tank, too?!?!?!? Always pushing the blame onto other people... LOL!! (ducking for cover)

No twisting required, I gladly put it in there, and now I'd like to return the favor and give them some of my "Red Plague Mushrooms" to return that favor! One good deed deserves another.
