Winter Storms/Back up power

Just letting everyone know, PepBoys has 1000 watt generators for like 80 bucks. This is a great item for any reefer to have in there equipment line-up.

Run your pumps and possibly tank heater indefinitely. Just an FYI for anyone tossing around the idea of a geny. I promise the way our local news exaggerates things, they will be sold out by Sunday.

I was just going to post a simular thread. If you have a generator go ahead and start it to make sure the gas has not gummed up the carb. I just started mine and made sure I have ten gallons of extra gas on hand.

Everyone stay safe through the Holidays.

Yup...mine was recently operated and is full of gas...with plenty of extra gas standing by. In addition, everyone should probably make sure they have enough extension cords, etc., to reach everything and get the power adequately distributed. I have a 5500w unit that will run all the tanks, fridge and furnaces...great peace of mind.

I think I am going to sell my smaller one soon, and upgrade them both to a larger unit.

I just bought a nice Craftsman Generator so I am ready, but of course this virtually guarantees that we will get no ice in Central Oklahoma

OOPS!

Your guarantee didn't work. Did you lose power?

We bought a Troy-Bilt 5KW at Lowes on Sunday morning when they first opened. We lost power all day Monday, so it was worth every penny...
