StarFish Pests?
An unexpected hitchhiker arrived a week ago, it is a seven armed, mini, starfish that is purple and red, having the appearance of coralline algae. I remember reading somewhere that there is a certain starfish that is not reef safe, and was wondering if this is one. My camera skills are lacking, sorry, no pics.

Asternia starfish, some eat algae some eat corals. Watch where he hangs out to see what he eats. I've only seen tan ones and they eat algae, I'd keep a close eye on this one or remove him just to be safe.

Nor have I. I'd get that bad boy out to the sump. He'll be fine there.
If you get another, there are bumblebee shrimp that at least annoy the daylights out of them or any urchin in the tank.

ive never seen a red and purple asterina and I doubt it is.
Qs is the star thick bodied or thin? do the legs move like a serpant star or more like a choc chip star?
