Nick I totally agree with you
I am anxious though to see how this build will go. His 180 tank was a work of reef art.

Holy Moly where did the time go!!!!
OK here is my update. I just ordered the tank today, I am going with Aquarium Obsessed. I have to have the final plan to them in a few days. Right now I still (I know, I know, make a decision already!!) can't make up my mind about the overflows. I think at this point I will go with two overflows in the corners. Right now I am up in the air with just putting them in the corners or moving them 6-8" from the side walls. Moving them in a little would make it easier to build the stand, as I would not have the bulkheads too close to the corners. Anyone see a problem with moving the overflows over a little bit? I am also probably going to have them drill out a hole for a 1 1/2" bulkhead in the back of the tank for a closed loop.

Not at all Joe, It also give you a place to put Tunzes a little farther back into a corner, partially hidden by the overflows.

Aquarium Obsessed is doing those new external overflows, they look real nice, IMO. Just an idea, not sure if you've considered those or not.

Yeah, I'd do it AGA style. It will also give you more viewing room from the side.

I would go with (2) 1.5" intakes for the closed loop.

OK, here are some drawings of how I am going to have the tank built. Both are the same the only difference being the first one is without dimensions so you can see what's what.
I decided to have the bottom drilled for a closed loop after all. So I'll have one 1.5" drain and four 1" returns. Probably look into using an Oceans Motions 4 way on it.

I don't know Joe about drilling the bottom of a 36" wide tank, you think is a good idea? I hear so many bad story's about it . Is any way they can get the glass tempered after they drill the holes on the bottom ?
