RO/DI problem

I have a typhoon 5 stage I did a backflush of the membrane and now when I turn off the spout at the end it sounds as if there is still water running through the system. The only way I can get it to stop is to partially open the backflush valve (just slightly) and then close it and the sound of water stops. Before whenever I closed the spout when I was finished the sound of water would stop, now I can only get the sound to stop by opening and closing the backflush valve. Is there something wrong with my RO/DI unit?

I'm not sure I follow, but here goes.

DOes your system have an automatic shut off valve? When the flow of purified water out of your systm is stopped by a float valve for instance, the ASOV should stop the flow of waste water.

The flush valve on your system should be closed for normal operation.

It does have an auto shut off and while I'm making water it's shut off. But when I'm done making water all I had to do was close the end valve and you could hear it shut off, now the only way I can get the sound of running water to stop is to just slightly open the shut off valve and then close it again. How come the only one who answers is from another manufacturer. I can't get the air, water ice people to answer even in their own forum. Maybe I should have gone with a Buckeye system instead thank you Buckeye. So do you think the auto shut off valve is not properly working? Does it effect the water at all?

Can you get your system such that while the system is running, you can see the water coming out of the purified water line,
AND
see the water coming out of the waste line.

We need to get away from the noise you're hearing and see if there is actually water coming out of the drain line.

I suspect the problem is that you ASOV isn't working.

I'm having a little trouble following your description - if you'd like to call we can probably get closure on this in a short phone call. 513-312-2343.
