Mount 'em up!

Well, for the first time in 5 days I made the 30-minute drive to my apartment. (I've been staying at my g/f's house since I got laid off.) Well, that alien eye echinophyllia I have stung a couple lord heads (not the rare ones, thankfully) and about 4-5 small frags were turned over by the damn stomatella snails in the tank. I have no fish, no shrimp, no larger snails, nothing. Just the damn stomatellas and one small white crab that filter feeds.

So, suffice to say, I was ****ed. I can leave the cats and the lizards for days, and the tank is on a timer. I remembered I had a tube of Marineland Holdfast under the stand, and a bunch of larger dry crushed coral pieces...so....

I used the whole tube and mounted each frag I could on a larger piece that can't be overturned. I'll be posting pics in a few days when I go back home, but I was wondering if anyone else has used Holdfast before, and how you mounted your frags with it. It seemed to work great, but I'm back at the g/f's for a stretch and don't really want a huge surprise when I get back to my tank.

Peace,

Chip

i've used that marineland holdfast before and it works fine. It takes quite a bit of pressure to break it off the rock once it has "cured" to the rock, which takes a few minutes. It is a little unsightly though, but good for LPS b/c they will grow over it.
