Hammer Help - Too Close to HQI?

Hey guys, I recently upgraded my lighting from a 130w PC to 150w HQI Metal Halide. My Hammer coral has been the trooper of my tank. Always has been stong and healthy. In the pic below you will observe more or less his bottom half open, and the top portion all closed up.

The northern most portion of the Hammer is about 2" from the surface of the water, directly under the HQI. What should I do? If you are going to say "move him", I should let you know that I used epoxy to hold the hammer there, so be prepared to instruct me how to remove/extract the epoxy. Are there any lighting modifications I can do in the meantime, as far as acclimation goes?

Thanks in advance!

he should be fine there after he gets used to the light. mine is basically in the same position under a se 175 mh. you need to shade him or only turn on the halides on 1 hr a day and increase it by 1 hour every few days.
